With other young people in Barcelona aged 18-27, we have taken to the green areas of El Poblenou to visually articulate in a coherent visual ensemble the perceptions and aspirations that our generation holds towards the future Through testimony and image, The Forest sheds light onto an ecosystem of uncertainty, optimism and hope. It is our collective response to the emergency that we are facing.

Francesca Bari (Rovigo, Italy, 1990) is an Italian-Japanese graphic designer and photographer residing in Geneva, Switzerland. With a background in communication and graphic design, she has over ten years of work experience gained in the corporate world as well as in international organisations. Through her career, she had the opportunity to experiment with various forms of visual storytelling ranging from graphic design to photography and video. Her professional practice allows her to easily navigate and shift between different creative styles in order to adapt to her audience and clients. Through her combined skills in graphic design and photography, she aspires to help companies and organisations create impactful and original communication strategies.

Sukriti Singh (Delhi, India, 2002) is a visual storyteller with a keen interest in wildlife photography. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English (Honours), with a Minor in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Photography and Design. With a background in photojournalism, she seeks to empower her subjects, allowing them to tell their stories through captivating imagery. Her passion for the artform ignited at a young age, and she continues to explore its depths, seeking ways photography can connect to broader social and environmental issues. Driven by a desire to push the boundaries of the medium, Sukriti aims to employ her skills as a tool for conservation, crafting thought-provoking pieces that inspire action. Her ongoing project Asylum challenges the traditional modes of looking within modern-day zoos, eliciting her viewers to reconsider the implications of such an institution.

Charlotte Rühl (Aachen, Germany, 1996) is a photographer and designer based in Barcelona. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design (2020) and her Master’s Degree in Photography and Design by Elisava (2024), she embarked on a diverse career journey, experimenting with various fields of photography and design. A lifelong football player herself, Rühl found her true inspiration in women’s football and the empowerment it symbolizes. This realization profoundly influenced her work, shaping her visual language to celebrate strength, resilience, and pride not only of women’s sports, but of all kinds of personalities captured by her. Her work is distinguished by combining her backgrounds in graphic design and photography, creating visually striking images that are both artistic and powerful, characterized by bold and graphic elements.

Fabio Di Pietrantonio (Italy, 1998) captures the essence of the world through his lens. Raised in the picturesque region of Abruzzo, known for its stunning landscapes and rich natural beauty, di Pietrantonio developed a profound appreciation for nature that deeply influences his photographic work. Di Pietrantonio’s artistic journey began with a foundation in theatre, which he studied in Italy, fostering his understanding of narrative and visual storytelling. He later expanded his horizons by studying cinema in both France and England, where he honed his technical skills and cinematic vision. Now a professional photographer, his work reflects a unique blend of theatricality and cinematic flair, drawing viewers into compelling visual narratives. His photography not only documents moments but also evokes emotions, inviting audiences to see the world through his eyes.

Paula Mateu (Spain, 1999) was born and raised in the north of Mallorca, where she studied classical dance at the Conservatory for ten years. During that period, she developed an obsession with forms, lights, and movement. After graduating, she left the discipline because her objectives changed to a more plastic dimension. In 2019 she started a new life in Barcelona, where she studied Graphic Design and Visual Creation in EINA from 2019 to 2023. After college, she worked with a photographer for a year when she decided to enrol in a Master in Photography and Design by ELISAVA (2023-2024). Since her graduation, she has been working as a creative in the city, and developing personal projects.

Daniela Portillo (Mexico, 1998) is a Mexican designer and photographer specializing in fine art and documentary photography, delves into the beauty of the mundane, tirelessly seeking out the often-overlooked details. With a minimalist and aesthetic style, she seamlessly combines design and photography to carve her path in the creative world. Each captured image becomes a powerful expression of the uniqueness and dignity of every individual, reflecting her belief that we all deserve to be noticed and make ourselves known. As a visual storyteller, she aims to connect with her environment and subjects, offering them a safe space to be authentic and shine in their own light.

Seok Park (Seoul, 1991) is a photographer and designer who creates robust communication through photography with a warm-hearted but cold-headed attitude. Endeavouring craftsmanship in both technical and conceptual processes, he designs entire photography to achieve a fine blend of solid stories and strong visuals. After residing in Eindhoven, the Netherlands for seven years (2016-2023) and a year in Barcelona, Spain (2024), he is currently based in Seoul where he has launched as a freelancer studio popopo that practices in design thinking and photographic practice. His work has been featured in various event such as Dutch Design week, Milan Design week and several publications.

Daniela León (Bolivia, 1996) is a photographer based between the U.S. and Europe. Four years after earning a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Houston (2020), she completed a master's in Photography and Design by Elisava in Barcelona (2024). The root of her practice explores the intimacy of human connections and is characterized by the combination of multidisciplinary skills. By following this process, León navigates the realms of time, memory, and identity to uncover their multi-layered meanings.

Bing Li is a Chinese photographer residing in Barcelona. Having spent a considerable period of time engaged in documentary photography realm, he is currently transitioning to a niche in commercial photography, applying his profound sensitivity to create images that are both aesthetically pleasing and convey a narrative for new clients.

Patrick Martin (Stockport, England,1996) is a photographer and teacher currently residing in Barcelona. He graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2018 with a Bachelors in History and from ELISAVA in 2024 with a Masters in Photography and Design. In his personal projects, his work demonstrates a strong awareness of the past, as he works with symbols and traces to construct visual narratives. His latest work Looking for George (2024-) is a reflection upon the complex nature in which myth influences understandings of national identity.

Shabnam Ferdowsi (Los Angeles, USA, 1992) is an Iranian-American multidisciplinary creative based in Barcelona. With a bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of Southern California (2014) and a master's in photography and design from ELISAVA School of Design (2024), her work is both visual and experiential. As a photographer and communicator, she seeks to uncover stories on identity and culture, using her camera as a passport into other people’s lives. Collaboration is at the heart of it all–bringing these stories to life through visual storytelling and experiential productions on commercial and personal projects is a catalyst for building community and connection.

Paolo Buso (Treviso, Italy, 1997), also known as Phole, is a creative mind from Italy currently residing in Barcelona. Phole expresses himself through drawings, extensive writing, and his greatest passion, photography. His background in product design (BA – ISIA Roma Design, 2020), photography (MA in Photography and Design by Elisava, Barcelona, 2024), and in wood craftmanship teaching significantly influences his artistic style and ongoing visual research. Fascinated by the fine line between fabulation and truth in photography, he primarily focuses on street and daily life subjects in analogue photography for his personal projects. He also extensively documents youth nightlife culture.

Bartosz Sobolewski (Poland, 2004) is a multidisciplinary artist who is maturing in his inventive style throughout England and now Spain, having just completed an MA in Photography and Design (2024). His creative endeavours began with photography, which he has studied for eight years now and whilst still utilizing that intrinsic ability,he is expanding his creative visions through a range of contemporary multimedia. Driven by a higher renaissance purpose to use art as the medium that awakens people to their potential and to evoke positive change within the confines of modern society. He continues to develop inventive installations and transformative art in the name of opening our consciousness to what it already knows but has been forgotten.

Felix Razum (Munich, Germany, 2000) is a photographer and conceptual artist currently based in Barcelona. His work delves into the intricate interplay of place, memory, and identity, seeking to unravel layers of individual and collective selves, and to challenge contemporary societal narratives and norms. By capturing moments that are both ephemeral and deeply rooted, Razum invites viewers to reflect on how environments shape our sense of self and how memory transforms these spaces over time. His artistic practice is particularly focused on the fluidity of identity and its relationship with the places we inhabit, prompting critical questions about authenticity, belonging, and the constructs that define us. It encourages a dialogue about who we are, where we come from, and where we are headed, fostering a deeper understanding of the self in relation to the world.
